Western NGOs are stepping up pressure on the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to cut ties with its landlord Wallysons Inc, linked to Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud’s family.

What people says about this?

Anticommunalist
One thing is for sure Taib Mahmud certainly has some very powerful and influential enemies that is constantly tracking all his evil misdeeds.

Lexicon The US must take note of human rights abuses taking place in Sarawak – rape of the Penan, land grabs, violence against those who resist – even if this is halfway across the world. Does the FBI intend to send a message that it supports those leaders who are responsible for these human rights abuses, by contributing to their fortune and renting their overseas assets?

Feelletdownbybn For MACC is difficult to gether evidence on this family. But very swift on TBH.Mind you they work round the clock,in between watching blue film! DAP Kinta Valley in Perak is questioning whether electoral system is being manipulated due to a recent surge of postal voters in the Ipoh Timor parliamentary seat, and in particular its Canning state seat.

What do people says about this?

S Vellu They must be planting Armed Forces votes in the Army camps in Ashby Road and fake postal policemen votes in Sg Senam. I am a voter theer and my vote goes to the Opposition, whoever its is

docs Better check, I’m sure in addition to the postal voters, the phantom voters, dead voters, Red and Green IC holders & voters and centenarian voters numbers should have increased in Ipoh.

Disgusted More policemen and army personnel with their families sent to Ipoh Timor? Is BN expecting it to be a war zone? Intending to cheat using postal votes as usual. Why should Army and police personnel and thier families be allowed to vote via postal manner. Their residences are all near polling stations and not stationed in some jungle area far away from voting stations. Besides are family members are they actively engaged in such duties to be postal voters. Postal votes should only be applied to army personnel who are in remote areas on duty or overseas on duty such as UN missions. The rest should go to polling stations and vote like every one else. In that way they are free to vote without some being appointed by their chiefs to mark the ballots for them. That is pure cheating and depriving the individual from making their independent decision as to who they want to vote. This sort of cheating should be put to an end by EC. But then do they dare?

A top Penang DAP leader has requested ally PKR to sacrifice several seats to make way for Malay candidates from DAP in the general election.

So what people says?

MatrixLYN I feel that he does have some point. Most of us the internet generation has gone beyond race, but frankly, we are not the majority yet…there are still many people out on the street which goes by race. I have no problem supporting malays in PAS or PKR either, but it’ll be good for DAP to have some Malays candidate, as it’ll give UMNO less bullet to tembak.

Simon Lee 3ed5 Why are you talking to the press? Is there always a need to give a press release revealing all your strategy to all & sundry? When Umno & MSM just wating to pounce on every opportunity to spin against you, such statement is politically immature & unwise when you should be discussing such strategy privately with your partners for a win win situation & not opening yourself to your enemies to attack you at every turn! The good rakyat are quite tired, to say the least, of the many chest thumbing by the DAP, PAS & PR leaders blowing their trumpet declaring, threatening & challenging (like school kids) to capture this & capture that & laying all their cards down where every politician is playing to the gallery & trying to score brownie points. It’s going to be “open season” soon & the political toads in the PR party will transform into political frogs when the situation is right for harvest by Umno! Be forewarned & come the next election, we’ll see the usual shameless sins of betrayal!

prussiablue Leaders should not go around demanding ally to cede seats to them in public. This may be portrayed by the public as lust for power. This Zul here only demand PKR to give seats but never once mention, which seat DAP is going to give to PKR, so I suppose this is a one-way demand. Is this the best way for PR? I agree the main consideration should be candidate qualification. This news will only be gobbled up by Utusan & TV3 to show the arrogance of DAP. For this, I think this guy is not a suitable candidate.

hmmmm I’m all for a good mix of candidates of all races in all parties, not only DAP. If DAP wants to field Malay candidates in the next GE, why don’t they eye the seats that UMNO won instead of PKR’s? If PKR or even PAS don’t have strong candidates to take on UMNO, then by all means DAP shd help.

ANONIMOUS Z It is only logical for a component party of a coalition to surrender its previously allotted seats, which were lost or won but the candidates defected later, to its ally. This will ensure the respective component parties to treasure and to double ensure to fill in the best candidates that can win. There is no point of filling lousy candidates that cannot be acceptable by the voters. Remember, Anwar Ibrahim used to plea with the voters that, BN is filthy rich; they can afford to fool the people by throwing in a lot of money to support very lousy and sub-standard candidates. But PKR is a very poor party depending on voluntary contribution and donation from the people for survival. As such, PKR promises to give to the people, the best and highest qualified candidates. These lost seats in Penang showed that PKR did not fill in the best as promised, as such, it is very logical for PKR to surrender them to its ally in coming GE13.

AnakMalaysia It sounds quite logical, but should also be reciprocated. Seat allocation is always the problem for both groups, BN and PR. It is wise to settle it amicably, with lots of compromise, sensible choice of winnable, likeable candidates and fair to both the party, the group and the rakyat. There is no right or wrong here, its the wisdom and the cohesiveness among the component parties that count. Let it be a winning and winnable allocations, as the winner must be both the PR and the rakyat.

NX No matter how much malaysians crow about being malaysian, race does matter for now. DAP should reinvent itself from the current perceived cinaman party to a true multiracial party that is seen and felt and not just spoken of. One day if PAS and PKR chose to end the alliance, you can go alone all the way to represent all malaysians.

Boiling Mud Can we work together for once without enslaved by the fixation on race and religion? We are working towards a fair and just Malaysia for our children and theirs to come in years, just so they can be proud of being Malaysians. If Pakatan government has been doing a good job, does it really matter it is Malay, Chinese, or Indian? Let’s work by consensus across the racial and religion divide that has been slowly destroying our country all these years. EN. ZULKIFLI, when you proposed to ask for more Malay seats, is the intention for the good of the people or is it for the selfish purposes of archaic politicians’?

JusticeKini While Zulkifli’s argument seems logical from DAP’s viewpoint, is DAP prepared to surrrender the Chinese majority seats to PKR or even PAS? Not only in Penang but also nationwide esp Perak and Selangor. Most important is quality of candidate and not KULIT-fication. China’s Deng Xiao Ping said before, “whether it is white cat or black cat, it does not matter as long it can catch the mouse”. Time for DAP to think out of racial lines and put real meaning to its slogan of CAT- Competency Accountability and Transparency”. DAP also has its fair share of non-performing Aduns and MPs in Penang n Selangor too. So please STOP pointing fingers but come out with a comprehensive plan to select the best candidate for the job unaminously agreed by ALL parties in PR. After 308 GE12, more Malays are joining DAP and some joined for selfish materialistic UMNO-style agenda. Let’s vote for a 2-party system but PR must put in credible candidates.

Voice What is Zulkifli request is only a request and should not be blown out of proportion. There is no force and no ultimatum been given. He is doing his part as a leader and from his point of view. However, i opined that there are much better ways to address all this issue. Instead of see it from race point of view which is what we should discard, the leaders in Pakatan should have in the spirit of co-operation, multi-racial and harmony which must be too way and not one way, to discuss the exchanging of seats without mentioning of who or what race to be fielded. Just strictly on exhanges of seats and once exchanges, it is up to the Party to field whom they like to field. Cheers.

Onyourtoes Zulkifli
, Please don’t use race for your own personal ambition. What is this Malay and Chinese votes for DAP? You seem unable to disentangle from race in what you think and do. PR and DAP should be supported or not supported based on policies and performance, period. This country only has future if enough people are convinced that it is “the content of our character and not the colour of our skin” that shall determine who should be given the opportunity to govern. Please help to realise this goal, not to accentuate the opposite.

Malaysianearthquake good fight..cosmetic politics by dap..last election rakyat malaysia punished bn racial parties..but now dap playing racial politics in difrent manner… its clear that dap try to weekend pakatan rakyat. why not dap put this malay candidates in their own chinese majority seats. UMNO in dap, MIC in dap and MCA in dap..rakyat must reject dap racial politics…How can rakyat trust this dap in pr…if they playing racial politics for their own party not thingking for larger context to capture putrajaya? therefore bn confident that they can maintain power..

Anonymous There is some truth in Zul’s request. PR parties are mature enough to accommodate many views. Each of them is no longer defensive and over sensitive to other’s remarks and requests. We wish them well as they discuss issues with the view to form the federal govt. I believe there won’t be any public spat over this remark by Zul. I sincerely hope that Zul had make this known to the party leadership which in turn to bring it up for discussion at PR level.

Anonymous_4031
Pakatan Rakyat leaders must present the best candidates in the election, be they Malays, Chinese, Indians, Eurasians. That is the best way forward: no dog-n-the manger attitude. Will PR leaders rise to the occasion and take the bull by the horns? Or will they sleep in the hay and refuse to allow the cows to eat the hay? PR leaders must look at the BIG picture and not immersed in their own cocoons. The world is moving forward; and leaders must also move forward. The same principle applies to BN leadership. Obsessed with personal power and personal glory, the nation cannot move forward ina globalised market. It must take the CREAM of whatever colour; it must discard sycophants and passengers who have vested interests; and not the interests of the people! Finally, it is MERITOCRACY is the way forward. A strong leader will put people first; and himself last.He will dare to pursue the highest goals for the greater good.

A British lawyer representing the outlawed Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) who was barred from entering Malaysia to see his clients has lambasted the Malaysian government in a critical commentary on influential British daily The Guardian.

What people says about this?

Dr.Irwan Hj Jusoh I think as Malaysians we should question the real motive of the immigration to have deported a human rights lawyer. Waytha Moorthy , you Sir, have shone the ugly spotlight on Malaysia. Congratulation

Dr Suresh Kumar This story has been hogging the limelight for more than a week, even appearing in international media, yet the Malaysian Bar Council and Ambiga, who are usually very vocal are in a deafening silent mode. Even though Imran is a British citizen, but he came all the way to represent his Malaysian clients. The bar council as a responsible professional body should therefore speak up against such, humiliating and deplorable behaviour of the authority against a human rights lawyer, regardless of his nationality. Ambiga herself has gone through such a humiliation, and knows first-hand how it feels like to be denied entry, what more for a person who flew from thousands of kilometres away and to be treated in that manner with blatant disregard for his rights. And to further humiliate him. He was classified as a ‘prohibited immigrant’. This is totally unacceptable by any standard. I wonder why the Bar council, Ambiga, the human rights NGOs, etc are awfully in total silence?

JusticeKini Tourism Malaysia will be changing its slogan soon from “Malaysia Truly Asia” to “Malaysia – Truly Racist”. As long as UMNO practises a policy that promotes the supremacy of a race over others, there will be no future for the next generation. My children are 4th generation Malaysians have less rights than a 1st generation Malaysian-born Indonesian Muslim who became the Selangor Menteri Besar and 1st generation Malaysian-born Indian Muslim became the Prime Minister of Malaysia. That’s why there is now 1 million skilled Malaysians working overseas and 3 million low-skilled migrant labour working in Malaysia. Now even the illegal ones out-numbered the legal migrant labour and they can get blue ICs and vote. Very soon Malaysia will be part of Indonesia (which became a republic). We will be sowing the seeds and I assure u reaping the harvest will be a nightmare. BECAREFUL UMNO- Indonesians have great experience in throwing out their Presidents. haha! Technology visionary Steve Jobs, who co-founded Apple Inc in a garage and transformed it into the world’s most valuable technology company, has resigned as the company’s chief executive after a lengthy medical leave.

The 55-year-old Apple co-founder and pancreatic cancer survivor has been on medical leave for an undisclosed condition since 17 January.

In a statement, Apple said that Jobs had been elected chairman and that Tim Cook had been elected CEO.

In his resignation letter, Jobs said: “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

“I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the board sees fit, as chairman of the board, director and Apple employee.

“As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

“I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

“I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you – Steve.”

Jeffrey Fidacaro of the Susquehanna financial group said: “It’s a prudent move to name a successor that is Tim Cook.

“I don’t think Wall Street will find that unexpected. It’s nice to get a succession plan in place with Steve Jobs still at the helm of the board and guiding Tim Cook.”

Trading of Apple shares on Wall Street was halted after hours following the announcement. In regular trading, Apple had gained 0.7% to close at $376.18.

Perak Mufti Harussani Zakaria had once advised Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak that it is the government’s “weaknesses” and “corrupt” practices that have divided the Malay community, he revealed today.

What people says about this issue?

Malaysian Born Well this chap likes the sound of his voice and is one of the most crass political opportunists in the country. He enjoys coming out with controversial statements using non-muslims as his favorite boogeymen. For him to openly turn on the prime minister is an indication that he has now collected his fee of 30 pieces of silver and is now doing his masters bidding. Looks like an internal struggle in UMNO. For him to say that he advised prime ministers is a joke, he is a class clown who knows how to manipulate racial and religious sensitivities, he represents the lowest form of political tool and these days spends his time stirring discontent and fear among the lower income group and rural muslims. What a shame that a low life like this is given such prominence and face when vermin like him should be shown the door.

David Dass The problem was and is not Islam. The problem is one Mufti Harrussani Zakariah. This is not the first time that he has tried to stir up trouble between Muslims and non Muslims. He was the one who sent out a text message – saying that thousands of Muslims had been converted into Christianity and that a Catholic Church in Ipoh was baptizing Muslims. That caused a crowd of Muslims to gather around the Church during a service scaring the congregation. Whose interest does it serve to allow someone like this to spew so much garbage without penalty or sanction ? How does Islam or the nation benefit from tension between the races or from polarization or from people emigrating because they cannot take this constant attempt by some to stoke the fires of racial and religious hatred ? There are contrary voices but in the nature of things discordant and raucous voices are the loudest. There is no spiritual law that says people of different faiths cannot live together peacefully and harmoniously.

Wong Yoke Leong I hope the Perak Mufti was wrongly quoted when he said that non muslims are cruel according to the Quran. I have many non muslim friends and I can sincerely say that they are definitely not cruel. Statements like this causes religious tensions. Sigh!

4thForce Many people who commented here didn’t attend the forum and look how they lambasted not only the mufti but also Islam based on what is reported by Malaysiakini. Qur’an gives warning and reminders to all humanity but I don’t recall Qur’an states non-muslims being cruel simply because they are non-Muslims. Reporting on interpretation of Qur’an verses by people who are not knowledgable would result in this gross misunderstanding. I would advise Malaysiakini to be careful in this area and not simply report without clarifying. You could be held responsible for irresponsible journalism.

ANONIMOUS Z How sad it is for Malaysia these days! Why does he keep talking of Malays split? Isn’t it should be Malaysians split? Also he is only interested in Malay Muslims to come together. He does not even want the Mamak-Muslims or other non-Malay Muslims to come together. What a real extreme racist under the pretext of religious supremacy. So, to all our Mamak-Muslims and non-Malay Muslims or non-pure blood Malay Muslims, all of you are considered 2nd class Muslims in Malaysia. It is just like in Middle East, the Gulf region, all non-Arab Muslims including the pure Malay-Muslims are 2nd class Muslims.

Simon Lee 3ed5 And what this Islamic “hero” is now trying to only preach is half of the Malays supports corruption?! And which half are you standing on Mr Mufti? If you are trully a man of Allah who practise & live by the tenets of Islam, you should call for all Muslims to vote for PR, while it may not be perfect, but at least the party is incorrupt & sincere, unlike Umno,a party of corrupt & filthy $$billionaires! As you had confirmed & declared the govt is corrupt, for Allah’s sake, why didn’t you demand the $24 million diamond ring, the $100K handbags & the $200billions of the nation’s wealth that were plundered be returned to the rakyat & the corrupt charged? Where were you, Man of Allah, all these 54 years, when the nation’s bleed & every institution of our nation is corrupt & collapsed, countless killed in custody & the many sins & criminal acts perpetuated against the rakyat & Islam by Umno? A leader who supports a corrupt party & condones corruption & every evil betrays Allah!

wfworker All leaders whatever their belief must look at the mirror FIRST before running down people with different belief; do note the time span that separate the gap between civilizations. If there are civilizations that had lasted longer than your own; surely it provides you an indicator. Being over sensitive about oneself while ‘jabbing’ in the air does not reflect any depth of thinking. Anyway, one can claim anything in this world or the next world; the majority of the population in this world can only smile and judge as such conclusion from such a LEARNERED man! anyway that is your claim!

The syarie lawyer for 12 Muslims present at a thanksgiving event in a church recently has urged the public and the press to cease attempts to brand them as apostates.

What people says about this issue?

Henry Hock Guan Teh Is better to be branded an ‘apostate’ and believes in the true God than being loved by others but believed in a false god. Words like ‘apostate’ or ‘conversion’ are not bad words. It is how one perceived it to be. Can we say that Buddha who moves away from Hinduism and Jesus who moves away from Judaism or Muhammad who gave up idol worshipping are “apostate” and committed an act of ‘conversion’? You can brand them with whatever vocabulary but this are their rights to freedom of religious thoughts. It is everybody’s unalienable rights to change their religion.

Me2011 “As their syarie lawyer, I should remind everyone to refrain from accusing any Muslim person as apostates, which is tantamount to the offence of takfir,” he said in a statement today. The problem here is, these UMNO-friendly bloggers committing takfir will be exempt from the law. They can go to town to slander anyone and they can be protected. This is really shameful. I pity the 12.

DannyLoHH Indeed, those UMNO friendly bloggers do not care about the truth, all they care about is milking the religious sentiment to the fullest to shore up political support. They don’t care about there are 12 Muslims being hurt in the process. I would suggest that these 12 Muslims to bring those malicious slanderer to court be it the Syariah court or the civil court. Those malicious people needed to be taught a lesson.

Malaysian Born Who released the names of the attendees, if it came from JAIS then then the staff concerned should be sacked immediately. Firstly it is not an offense to attend the function and there has been no prosecution nor proof presented todate of apostasy taking place. There has been conjecture, rumour and loose talk, since when is this enough to take action of any kind. To put their names out in public view and then accuse them of something that they may very well be innocent off is totally unacceptable, allowed to continue then it would also be ok to identify all the Jais personnel who took part in the raid, get their home addresses and then publish them with equal rumours about their wrongdoings, deviant religious practice and possibly deviant sexual practice because someone might have noticed them looking at the women in the function in an odd way. Totally wrong but no different from what is going on now.

people power Let this reasonable appeal be heard by all, that no one should label another apostate from any religion without due and fair examination, be it any individual, government or even religious authority. So far, only certain shadowy quarters linked to a political party and JAIS have been insinuating this. Hopefully these same accusers will be human enough to apologise and change their ways as Bishop Paul Tan said about Sinar Harian, should the accusations be proven false. Else, let these quarters and even JAIS be not respected and rejected by everyone.

do190811 Is the one visited Vatican City to meet the Pope an apostate? Are those attending Prince William’s wedding in the church apostates? Can someone explain this clearly?

Political frogs, especially those who are former Gerakan leaders, have been asked to refrain from interfering in the party’s internal affairs.

What people says about this issue?

Bhajnik Singh Baljit be relevant and realistic. You know in your heart what BN/Gerakan has done to our once great nation. You should not double talk, on one hand criticize and on the other defend. Be clear in your beliefs and you will become a leader with followers otherwise you are just another Barisan coolie.

smallbigblob Baljit, the ship is sinking very fast! If i were u, i wud save my breath and put on my lifevest or better still jump to another ship. For u can relate the story of your sinking ship safely over there!

FellowMalaysian
If your leader deserts his base camp where he derived 18 years of loyal and undivided support from his people, and now ensconced himself in the cuddles of the prime minister’s cozy lap, any right thinking supporters would have left him in frustration. What is this Baljit Singh guy shedding his soul for in Koh Tsu Khoon? While double-headed snake like Tan Tee Beng whom he singled out as unworthy detractors may not possess much credentials to take a jibe at Koh, there are many other vocal and credible politicians who have similarly stepped up their tempo in criticizing this former CM. As far as Penang is concerned, Koh and Gerakan is history and about the only thing left for him to do in Penang is to appease the Penangnites and calm their frazzled emotions.

SusahKes The way I see it, it’s not the frogs that cause problems for Gerakan. It’s more of Gerakan causing their own heartaches. And that will continue for as long as Gerakan plays suck up to UMNO. For UMNO is no benevolent master; just look at Utusan’s latest bashing of Koh Tsu Koon and in asking for the Penang CM’s position to be returned to UMNO. Solution? LEAVE UMNO. Just see what happens when UMNO no longer has component parties for support.

Jentayu Gerakan can close shop. Another cheap political publicity just by giving out statement from an ac room… After the next election, Gerakan, Koh and the cronies will be wipe out.

While the government is still studying the establishment of the parliamentary select committee (PSC) on electoral reform, the Election Commission (EC) said that not all recommendations by the committee will be accepted and implemented-Malaysiakini

What people says:

Concern Citizen 1M- Now i guess it is safe to call EC as Extremely Crappy. First, they say they have no powers to change anything. Then they call them self as an independent body. The most useless independent body in the country that has no powers. Now out of sudden they claim to have power to override PSC’s recommendations. What nonsense. If you are really an independent body as claimed, STOP Postal Voting Immediately. Or just STEP DOWN. We do not need man with no guts and full of nonsense on the job.

Quigonbond -I’m stumped. Earlier, the EC deputy decried Bersih’s pressure on EC saying they are merely an administrative body and that reforms need to come from Parliament. Is he suggesting that even if Parliament approves the reform he is not going to implement it? How dare he? Has EC become law unto itself? As to respect, I’m afraid to say, EC deserves none – going by its record, the only experience EC has is one of closing a blind eye or even complicit to various forms of electoral fraud. When Pakatan comes to power, electoral laws reformed, and the EC is totally replenished with high calibre characters, and they show that they are impartial and professional, then they start earning the voters’ respect.

Ben-ghazi- Before even the PSC is formed, this goon is already saying that the EC may not accept all the recommendations of the PSC. Let the PSC be formed first and let them do their work first. In any case, the EC has no power to reject the recommendations if these are accepted by parliament. After all, it is parliament that passes the law, including election laws. So what the heck are you opening your big mouth now–and the putting your foot in it? Better shut up lah!

Armageddon
- Wan Ahmad says, “EC is an independent body formed under the federal constitution and free from the authority of other departments.”. At one point of time EC Chairman said that he has no power.

Anonymous_4031- Now the EC has come into the picture! Is it a pre-emptive strike? Then, what is the purpose of PSC? It come sto naught! So, we hear front-door announcement that GE will be “free and fair ” ; but back-door it may be ” recommendations not practical and feasible. ” So, we rae back to square one! So, the announcement about ” sincerity, free and fair election ” is just for public consumption to fool the public. Will the EC reject the recommendations? Will he go against the PM? Or will he be advised , through the backdoor, to reject them? So, the PM or Nazri may say we want “clean, free and fair ” election; but the EC rejects the recommendations! So, what can we do ? Very smart ! Where in the world, leaders want to have a level-playing field ? Sure lose? Cannot-lah! We want” winnable candidates “. The test of the pudding is in the eating! The test of a leader’s sincerity is in his DEED; not in his words!

ksn- Earlier in your debate with Ambiga, you said EC is a department taking instructions. Now you claim that you are so independent that the EC need not accept all the recommendations of the Parliamentary Select Committee, that powerful! Now the PSC will be appointed by Parliament and the recommendations, I believe, will be tabled in Parliament for debate, adopted with any amendments. That is the practice and procedure, right? You mean the EC can still reject the amendments adopted and passed by the Parliament? You have a lot of explaining to do EC. Where did this streak of guts come from when you behaved like a chicken and cowardly earlier? Whatever it is, this is a shameful EC.

DannyLoHH -Oh my god, someone please tell the EC deputy chief to stop shooting at his own foot by stop talking already? On one hand, he complaint that the many demands raised by Bersih is beyond the power of EC because of the law. He had painted a picture that EC is powerless to institute reform. Now that a PSC is formed, suddenly EC become very powerful, even more powerful than the Parliament that the EC could say no to recommendations made? The EC deputy chief will do himself and his credibility a lot of good if he keep his mouth shut.

AntiRacial -The whole episode is stage by BN government. Agree to form the select committee, listening to PSC demand and promise to bring this issue to parliament are just to cheat rakyat and make them to believe BN government is committed to reform the electoral process but it may already decided beforehand EC to reject most of the demand (except the demand which will not bring any benefit to opposition).

What will you say? Please add your comments below.

Malay language daily Sinar Harian today apologised for publishing an information text box accusing the ‘Christian movement’ of, among others, permitting prostitution and encouraging free mingling between the sexes.

What people says:

1M – If an insult of half the magnitude is to be done on them, I bet they will come out in groups all over the country shouting “Don’t test our patience” or “Don’t take our silence as timidity” or “Balik Cxxx” and so forth. Imagine you call them prosxxxxxx … I dare not think what will be the outcome. But when they do the same to others, they just have to apologoize the following day on page 8. Those Christian ministers in Najib’s cabinet should say something, they should not keep silent while watching their fellow brothers and sisters being intimidated and insulted like this.

DannyLoHH – Recalling the recent blunder committed by the Star, where we see bigots burning newspaper in the name of defending Islam, it shows character that I have yet to see Christians going out onto the street shouting bloodshed and arson over Sinar Harian malicious slanders. What is done by Sinar Harian is many times worse than the editorial error of the Star, but the Christians do not react in the same manner, not yet. And I pray that the Christians would keep their level headedness. The apology from Sinar Harian is not sincere enough. Especially, when the apology is buried in page 8, considering the scale and the viciousness of the malice against the Christians in the slander. If Sinar Harian is sincere in apologizing, they should publish the apology on their front page, not buried it deep in page 8.

Ferdtan – Sinar Harian is playing guerrilla tactics: ambush and then run. To apologise saying that it is an error and putting the apology in page 8 is certainly not sincere. Minister of Home Affairs,Hishammuddin Hussein who had been so quick to draw his gun at issues like the recent ‘The Star’s food supplement’ and the cow’s head demonstration seems to lose his tongue once again at a such a convenient time.So who is next in line to take potshots to ‘ambush and run’ at the convenient target: the minority group of Christianity faith. This type of propaganda is akin to telling deliberate repeated lies enough times and audacious enough will be believed by the masses.Joseph Goebbels of Nazi Germany would be proud of such tactics.

Chicharito-I used to read Sinar Harian when it was 1st launched as its coverage in politics was beyond the norms of Berita Harian or Utusan. Now, not anymore. If you need newspaper to wrap that nasi lemak or to cover your fruits in the ochard farm from bats or other pest, then I suggest u use the useless Sinar Harian………

Anonymous-Anything of religion can not be published without extensive research and cross-check of facts first. It is damn unethical to write something that have wide circulation. Having said something that is false and then say sorry is not good enough for the media industry. I just lose faith in any local main stream media reporting anything. The way that they are behaving, none of us should read and watch them.

mohd-The problem with people who thinks other people are stupid…these kind of idiots are all over the world…people who said and do something that hurt sensitivity of other people’s religion and then quickly apologize saying that that’s not what they mean (if they even apologize while some even refused to do so). It has been rampant in the west and this disease has already embodied in the our culture now.

NX-Sinar Harian, the christians are not easily offended by all the stupidity that is churned out by media like you, Utusan and other ignorant muslim NGO’s. We know our Faith, we know our GOD and we know WHOM we believeth and WHO paid the price of our sins at the CROSS and WHO ressurrected on the third day. My advice is read the bible with a open mind and ,most important ask GOD to reveal himself to you i.e if you truly want to know.

Anonymous_3e06- Tomorrow you will write something and apology the following day. Christians know what they teach and what they practice. They do not need this rubbish of a paper whose writers do not have the professionalism to do their research and interview the christians to find out what they believe and what they practice as follows of Jesus. They christians will never do that to our Muslim brothers ans sister and believe. That is the basic teaching of Jesus LOVE

dood – We are all awaiting Hishammuddin’s response to the apology and will expect no less (to be fair, of course) that he tell Sinar Harian that the apology is “not enough”, more needs to be done and that Christians are angry and upset over it. We are also awaiting Perkasa’s response and expect them to be burning copies of Sinar Harian and handing over memorandums to the newspaper’s representatives.

Argonist – Well, it is up to the Christian organisations to collectively sue the newspapers for the abject lies and filth denigrating them. An apology should not be accepted and if the government Minister says it is not getting involved as it would be infringing upon the free speech right of the Muslim newspapers, I suggest the Christian newspapers or magazines reply to this onslaught with a rebuttal that clearly specifies the vile nature of the the Editors religious beliefs and practices !!
