Heavy rain for six hours resulted in a landslide occurred at Km65, Jalan Ranau-Kota Kinabalu at the foot of the mountain early this morning causing hundreds of vehicles stranded.

Landslide that occurred at approximately 1 am covering a distance of 100 meters hillside path that is located not far from the path to Kinabalu National Park near Kundasang.

Executive Engineer Public Works Department Kota Kinabalu, Vincent Chua said there is no soul or accidents occur due to property damage incident.

According to him, cleaning work is done which is expected to finish tonight or tomorrow.

“This road still exists, but using only one path in interval-interlaced.

“However, the route is also little risk to road users because there are still dust and small stones down the hill due to rain for several days,” he said.

Reported, cleaning cause traffic congestion as far as three kilometers from both directions route.
