People comments:

Akar Sad to see how low the PM,Home Minister , PDRM have sunk, sending army veterans to intimidate Bersih leader is uncalled for and bring shame and disgrace to law abiding Muslims, those responsible will regret their action, this type of actions will only serve to increase the hatred for the government, shame on BN leaders

HangTuah Deputy IGP, this is unveiled intimidation and harassment of a brave and loyal lady whose only fault is to champion clean and fair elections. Don’t tell us you have an issue with that. Don’t tell us also that what these people did is not against the law. It is.

jeremy Ng Great but these army veterans should have performed longer to be in line with their ex- profession. Truly reflects that this country is going down the butts with UMNO/BN govt. They should take turn to do a 2 hours show as all these gatherings are officially legal as confirmed by our deputy IGP. More such anti – Bersih NGO should continue with their publicity. They should consider houses of LKS, Hadi, Nik Aziz, Nizar, LGE, Anwar Ibrahim and all those pro Bersih organizers. Suggest that they do belly dancing, sell yong tau foo, Nasi lemak, set collection points for dirty clothes, beruk plucking coconuts, etc. Mock funerals can be considered but may be a bit sensitive and may need ‘official’ clearance. Combined, they can do a 1Malaysia Anti-Bersih Circus Show as a finale at Dataran Merdeka and have it officiated by Najib. DBKL will surely allow as this is a National Heritage of our BN govt.

SMC77 The act of these “army veterans” aka UmNo running dogs is an insult to Islam. Don’t call themselves as Muslim as their act only brought shame to the world. I admire Ambiga’s courage to meet and even offer soft drink to these UmNo running dogs. She is a real hero!

at234l I do not blame those idiots who gathered, there will always be some people like that. I blame the govt and police who allowed this to happen. There are deliberately trying to incite hate towards Ambiga. If later someone overcome with hate should attack her, the govt and the police should be held responsible by all malaysians. Clearly it is a disturbance of peace with police escort and official blessing. The police stood apart at a distance, discreetly, in case there is any altercation between Ambiga’s bodyguards and the intruders, I don’t think it is the intruders who will get arrested. Are we a nation run by crooks in high office and in uniform. Thank you malaysians for speaking up against this outrage, this news has a record of more than 400 comments, I am glad to have spoken up myself.

David Dass Any group is free to demonstrate in a public place for a cause they believe in. The demonstration should be peaceful. The effect of the exercise of the democratic constitutionally guaranteed right may inconvenience people. This is the price we must all be prepared to pay for sustaining and maintaining the democracy we have. Wagging your bottom in the direction of a private house and then issuing a threat to the occupant is not an exercise of a democratic right. And when that occupant graciously offers canned drinks to the bottom wagging demonstrators her offer is turned down for the reason that they are ‘ Malay Muslims’ who only drink warm water !! And the police say that this is not harassment. Wonderful for being a moderate progressive country.

krissman Retired and nothing to do at home doesn’t mean that they have lost their ability to think. They did not serve the Rakyat instead they served BN and its gang of crooks. Find something better to do guys ….. like reading up a little more … travel outside your nushell to see how others live etc. You served the Rakyat and the country and enjoy what the country has got to offer instead of letting the BN cronies alone enjoy what the country has got to offer.

Not Confused I’m really amused by the antics of these geriatric apologists for the BN government. To campaign for free and fair elections is seen by them as a smear against the country, whereas the vast majority of us want to know that our elections are held on a clear and level playing field, giving the winning part(ies) a robust mandate to govern with their integrity intact. What is really sad about their misguided antics is that they protest about Bersih’s objectives but seem to ignore or feel totally disinterested in the BN governments perceived if not actual support for fraud, corruption, cronyism, nepotism, abuse of power and criminal breach of trust in dealing with the country’s finances.

bartimaeus 2020 … from 1 Photos of Federal Minister’s son cavorting with semi- naked women and drinking alcohol have been scattered throughout the internet. His deeds come under the Khalwat and Haram offences but he has not been investigated. On the other hand Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the leader of the opposition is being mercilessly hounded for an unfounded accusation of sexual impropriety… In another context respected lawyer Sivarasa has said that uneven – handed enforcement of the law by the Police may cause disgruntled citizens to seek private redress.

bartimaeus 2020 The Pariah deserves our ultimate strictures. John Adams’ principle, ‘A government of laws not of men’ is explained in Yahoo Answers:”It means that laws are to be interpreted objectively, not reread by individuals and are to be applied to everyone without regard for their positions, reputations or personal relationships with others. A government of men, on the other hand, would be one that is subjective, depending on the relationship of those enforcing the laws and those against whom the laws might be enforced.” Respect for the Law is diminishing among Malaysians generally. Ad hoc pronouncements of what the law is by UMNO bigwigs and their hangers–on — often by people with little or no legal training — have contributed to this state of affairs. One should not be surprised to find a large portion of caprice in these pronouncements. More ominous is the selective application of the law… contd on 2

Doc Sad state our army veterans are in. This is what happens when one gets hit in the head to often during one’s service for the country. Medical studies have shown that if a person get hit in his head to often, brain injuries are bound to happen. Butt exercises preformed by these Army veterans in front of Ambiga’s house shows that these veterans lack insight, no aversion to look foolish in public, and easily swayed by ideas imposed unto them by others. Thus this only proves my point on the poor mental state of our ex- army personals. I hope that the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Health take a good look into the mental and general health of our army veterans and ensure that the get the required medical care.

Holden The calibre and mettle of the ruling govt is up for public display. No intelligent debate is possible in Malaysia currently; only might is right. It is time the well-meaning, hardworking citizens of Malaysia take stock of the situation and ask themselves: How long are we going to allow such thugs to run the country? Is this the sort of country we want for ourselves and our families? How long are we going to allow our tax dollars to be spent on this bankruptcy of intelligence and patriotism that is the current govt?
This only goes to confirm one of the demands of Bersih to strengthen public institutions is completely justified. We urgently need our PDRM to be led by strong, capable and professional leaders who have good judgement and integrity, who people can trust and look up to. These sadly are completely lacking in our IGP and his deputy. Their lack of quality is mirrored in their counterparts in the Election Commission. Long live Bersih!
And I am sure you will lead on to fight another battle with the Powers-That-Be for a clean and fair election. Very soon the children of these foreigners who have been given citizenship will enrol in the police force and army. Today they are willing to work for cheaper labour and longer hours.
The desperation to stay in power by the current ruling coalition does not give them a clear state of mind to sincerely address the concerns raised by loyal and law abiding citizens. These incidents of “serving burgers” and “Butt Exercises” is what the current crop of leaders can come up with to address the issues that is being raised by every loyal citizens of this beautiful country of ours. These incidents will definately forge desire in every patriotic Malaysians that the time has come for a change. Change will be brought no matter what since the current desparate leaders have lost the ability to govern sincerely but is desparately doing what is fundamentally flawed irrespective of the consequences no matter what it takes to stay in power which is not acceptable anymore.
comments Show leadership Ambiga. Handle goons with ease. If you sound emotional and disturbed, they succeed. Look at how Bersih can gain by their conduct including that of the deputy chief of police. You can bet public, as much people as I talk to, are very disturbed by police statement. What can be summarised, some people don’t respect fight for fundamental rights. They use hooliganism as supporters of BN to taunt people with cause as individuals instigating violence. Approach it patienty and wisely so that majority citizen will become aware of the mastermind who is blessing these. They fear votes and that is their weak point. You must pin the response on this weakness. Don’t by any chance weep like an abandoned lady. You are a globally known leader and the world is looking at your model.
Both sides have shown that they want to express their opinions by “street demos”. Soon we will have internal clashes of opinions and are expressed by “street demos”. The Govt. wanted to put a stop to Bersih style but so far no words have come out re the other side’s street demos, neither yes nor no. What does this tell us?

A 71-year-old female protester has alleged today that she was punched and water was splashed on her face by police personnel.

The woman, who hails from Kuantan and who wished to be known only as Tow, was among the 512 people who were arrested at the Bersih 3.0 rally yesterday. She was later released at approximately noon earlier today.

tah ah mei assault 290412Tow (right in photo) said a female police officer punched her as she was being pushed roughly into a police van.

“She punched my face, I kicked her back, and she was thrown backwards,” she said during a press conference arranged by DAP, at Masjid Jamek LRT station, Jalan Tun Perak in Kuala Lumpur today.

People comments:

007199 Well done sister Tow. You have given strength to me by kicking the female bitch. If only it had been me I would have sodomized her then and there followed by a lolly.

fairplayer Brutal and beastly policemen and policewomen! Most inhuman to attack the elderly! Esp. an elderly lady!!! Shame on the police personnel who had the cheek to punch an old person! Vote Pakatan if we want to get rid of such bullies and samsengs in the police force!

Fair&Just Guess the purpose of splashing water on her is to fabricate that she is one of those who crossed the barricade, beating her trying to draw blood to show her defiance & the reason is to increase the no. of arrest to try to frame Bersih.
It seems Najib has visited injured police personnel- but we want him to also meet up with the people who were bashed by the anjing-anjing. I am sure our useless Home Minister will tell us this is another SOP!! Sure it is because we are all but in name a police state – see the violence and brutality perpetrated by these supposedly enforcers of the law on peaceful demonstrators!! They get away with it because to their bosses , they are just applying SOP, same as the indiscriminate use of tear gas and chemical laced water cannons!!
pissed I was also at DM…… The Police acted profesionally but the public provocked…. The Police are just doing their duty for us upholding Law and Order…. Please don’t just see one side…. Let’s cooperate to maintain peace…

BernieBaby After the 13th general elections, the rakyat should also have a SOP to deal with these UMNO politicians. Any suggestions?

Oscar Kilo “…he hopes that allegations that journalists being roughed up are not true”. Excuse me, these are not allegations. These are facts! My friend’s camera equipment was stolen by the police. Not confiscated, but stolen. No documentation, no record. Just grabbed. Stolen. Some cop is probably taking up a new hobby in photography with that stolen camera.

Everyday420 And how come Hishammudin did not visit the two people who were seriously injured after being hit by a police car?

Everyday420 Actually, the idiot Home Minister is right. It is standard for police in Malaysia to oppress citizens and journalists. It is standard for police in Malaysia to arbitrarily arrest peaceful protesters. Also standard for them to ignore thugs. Only Malaysia Police.

Ib Katak Ali “I don’t know. This is the standard operating procedure of police…,” he said. Bloody numbskull, make up your mind, either you know or your don’t. How can you say “I don’t know” and yet you claim to know it is their SOP?

class 67 I saw those videos on Police brutality….it made me cry for Malaysia. How we have come to this stage ?? You need evidences, go to You Tube, and if you are a human being, you would feel the same I do. Since you are also a Home Minister, you must take the responsibilities of these happening. IGP must also resign on the way Police behaved !! What have happen to our Malaysia !!!

Cannon Seizing and destroying the memory cards of press photographers, you call this police SOP? Hisham, you are even more stupid than you sound.

Anonymous #21828131 Fair Dinkum- it feels like we are in a communist country like China or some brutal African Regime when it comes to destroying evidence and that too from journalist . The only difference is that in China he who gets involved in corruption would face a firing squad. Here when it comes to corruption,’Semuanya OK’. Everytime this guy opens his mouth he comes out with some idiotic statement. This Home Minister seems to be suffering from pepetual mental constipation and verbal diarrhoea. I suppose that this is the only way for him to get out of a tight situation. ie. give some stupid rebuttal and act like an imbercile. he has done it so many times.

iloveBN Not only did the police physically rob people of their phone and what not they had also jammed all phone lines from making calls for fear that police brutality will be screened and sent out to the world almost immediately via mms. Shame of the police. Where they are supposed to provide protection, they cause hurt.

Plainly HM@HeSucksMyDick, Malaysians understand this SOP all too well …… as a ‘ standard means’ to hide evidence of ppolis brtality, right ? When you’ve erased evrything from the seize devices, then nobody can pursue the matter without evidence, right ?

fisherman The taking of money or goods in the possession of another, from his or her person or immediate presence, by force or intimidation is “ROBBERY” according to legal definition.

Malaysian Born On which planet is it acceptable “standard operational procedure” for the police to confiscate digital media from journalists covering events of any kind. It sounds particularly peculiar when the digital media being confiscated is of the actions of the authorities themselves. I think the police were better off without the comments of the Home Minister, this was clearly a screw up on the part of the police that they need to address, it cant be done by pretending that Malaysians are dummies that will believe this kind of nonsense anymore. The journalists should never have been touched and since when has beating up people become “standard operating procedure” in the process of arrest, sounds more like the behavior or gangsters.

cantabrigian Datuk Hishamuddin, a legally-trained Minister’s answer when asked why did the police confiscated cameras during the BERSIH rally: “I don’t know…” Well done, Datuk, well done.

Blogsmith I had always thought the Hishammuddin is not smart especially when he was videoed with the cow head protesters saying if people are not given the chance to express themselves, then it is not surprising that they protests (or something to that effect). However this admission for a lawyer and Home Minister takes the cake. How can a Home Minister admit that seizing journalists cameras are standard operating procedure?

Armageddon Memory cards were seized which is part of the Standard Operating Procedure said Hishamuddin. This must be a lesson learnt from BERSIH 2, in which the public had lots of evidence against the Police.
Please make available the IGP’s SOP or the OCPD’s SOP to the media to support your statement. I bet you that you will say it’s not possible as the SOPs are classified documents! It is shameful to still sit in your chair as Home Minister. In Japan the minister concerned would have tender his immediate resignation if not committed hara-kiri. I challenge you to take responsibility and resign. I’m sure you won’t do that right cos you are hoping that one day you will take over as the PM of Malaysia?

trublumalaysian Think about this dear Malaysians. It certainly makes sense to me…. The ominous statement by HM the night before and the suddenness of the water canons and tear gases at the tail-end. It just kinda tallies. Govt couldn’t stand to see the multi-racial Rakyat so united, with a carnival-like atmosphere, flowers being offered to police and then, all hell breaks loose. They had an evil contingency plan which they enforced on cue. Another thing is the PDRM animals who went on a rampage against civilians and journalists had a different look about them. From the looks of it, could have been perkida, perkasa, pukida and what-nots in disguise and they were quite graphic in their racial slants. What do we have to deal with now? BTN-trained & indoctrinated mercenaries? No thanks to the immigrant from Kerala who perpetuated an army of this morons over the years. God Bless the true and asal/tulin Malaysia for all Malaysians. Amen.
By the way, why do you have so many policemen on duty who do not have service numbers on their uniforms? Is this SOP too? Yes, SOP to abuse and torture citizens without having their identities disclosed, why not. Was that the plan? It is a fact; Malaysian Police under BN/UMNO have become trigger happy rogues. We have the right to assemble, period. If some of the demonstrators have turned violent, it is for the police to bring them under control in the gentlest manner. In the course of doing that, if the personal safety of police personnel is compromised, they have to learn to accept that as part of their job hazard. If the police can’t bear the risk, then ask them to change professions, to become farmers or librarians, for example. By the way, Keris, BN/UMNO has just lost another one million votes on Saturday, trust me.

According to Radzi, Najib had said, “I apologise for what has happened.”

Najib was seen whispering to Radzi when he paid the injured reporter a visit at Hospital Kuala Lumpur earlier today.

While he only said “yes” to Najib’s apology, Radzi earlier urged Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein to investigate the matter.

“We must (investigate). I assure you,” the minister was heard telling Radzi when he visited shortly before the PM.

‘Kicked in the gut’

Radzi, who was moved from a lower class ward to join the injured police officers and al Hijrah cameraman in a four bed room for the PM’s visit told Hishammuddin he was unduly attacked at the corner of Jalan Raja and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.

Speaking to Malaysiakini later, he said he was sitting there with several other reporters when police charged the area, seemingly to arrest Bersih protesters who were standing in front of him.

radzi razak hospital 290412 najib razak“At first they arrested and beat up a protester in front of me then a policeman kicked me in the gut. I fell and I was surrounded and hit by about seven or eight other police personnel,” he said.

He said the other reporters surrounding him yelled out “Press! Press!” to stop the attack which lasted about 30 seconds.

“After that the police just left…. I was wearing my press tag,” he said of the incident which occurred close to 7pm.

Old fracture

He added that paramedics were there within minutes, which he quipped is an improvement from Bersih 2.0.

“Then, I had to wait about 25 minutes for assistance,” said Radzi, who was hurt when protesters rushed to escape teargas at Jalan Pudu on July 9, 2011.

He said he was taken to hospital soon after paramedics arrived and doctors had yesterday said he had fractured ribs.

“But today they checked again and found that it was actually an old fracture. I have bruises on my head and the specialist is still running checks on whether I have internal injuries,” he said.

Radzi lodged a police report on the incident at about 2pm today.

People’s comments:

20121221Disaster What the clowns have is only apology! And that are the insincere apologies because the apology is a full stop, without any follow up and action is taken!
Anonymous #60202292 Hi Anonymous #30341242 Were u there yesterday? From what u wrote, I believe u were not there. U r only reading (writing) from a given script! shame on u! I was there. There was no violence, only peaceful walk towards the Dataran Merdeka. Upon declaration by Ambiga at about 3.00 pm that the Bersih Rally was over and asked participants to disperse, we were walking towards the LRT, bus station, etc to head home. Then suddenly we saw smoke and heard several burst of tear gas shooting, I felt my eyes was burning, my nose burning and my throat burning. The crowd including myself started to walk quickly away. Although the scene was chaotic, people panic, most of us did not run, only walk quickly to find shelter. So u see, I felt the chaos & violent was created by THE POLICE! WANTED BY THE POLICE! If not why should the Police started to chase & arrest people when they r dispersing or standing/sitting harmlessly at the side? Just arrest those who broke the barricade, no problem right?

Free and Fair Election Just like how TBH’s case was looked into since 2009, then Ahmad Sarbani’s case in 2011, your case will just be another statistic, Radzi. I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

ericlcc When police personnel were down, it was the poeple who came to their rescue and formed a cordon of protection…but when ordinary people are caught they are punched and kicked by the police…so who are the real protectors???

Anonymous #30341242 why blame the police, the BN govt? Blame Ambiga, Bersih and yourself , for wanting to incite hatred against he govt for your political mileage.. just wait for the election.. put your vote to your political master.. why start all these rally & protests,, to gain symphaty from the public.. the public are fed up of your political game. Those states under your PR rule, are far worst than the states under BN rule… look at Penang, Selangor, the richest states.. you have gained the most from the previous BN govt.. universities, 4-storied highways, centre of business, the best infrastrures , the most modern facilities.. better than any developed cities in the world.. Now you want to criticise the govt, not knowing the poor states in Malaysia that still need govt help to get developed like Penang & Selangor.. Ambiga.. go and help the poor orang Asli, the Penans, the poor nelayan, poor rural population of Swak & Sabah.. let the police do their job to fight crimes,, let Najib do his PM jobs …

Jedi_Who Are you sure he and kerismudin didn’t ask the Sun reporter to say he fell down because Ambiga pushed him. You help me and I help you lah!

Cannon The Sun reporter was publicly attacked by the police in the course of carrying out his duty. The government owes Radzi Razak nothing less than a public apology and action to taken against the police personnel for breach of discipline.

karma He should apologize to many other people who suffered the same treatment by Police. Chased down and whacked by 7-8 police men. Whacked further after handcuffed. Mostly were not violent at all, just running away and resisting arrest. It is all in the video!

Anonymous #88188 Najib should have understood the real scenario & background now : Some key men in his own team had planned and instructed the ‘police’ to attack on innocent , harmless and dispersing (on-the-way going homes) demonstrators…and certainly got some UMNGOK goons serve the police forces and only take orders from UMNGOK hawks… Somehow similar to recent incidents happening in China Chongqing District administration where “polices” had sabotaged diligent polices….Najib should immediately eliminate such bad trend in Malaysia to avoid worse situation…Najib should reassign his team now and position himself in alliance with the whole Malaysians (not the hawks) to prevent himself being overturned (by the hawks)…..Take the words….

moontime Apology is not enough. I hope the reporter will press charges against those subhumans who attacked him mercilessly. I just realised something here: the PDRM is actually helping Pakatan Rakyat in achieving its goal of reaching Putrajaya faster. Their hostility, aggressive and intimidating acts will fuel even more hatred against BN and motivate more people to vote against them in the coming GE. Blessing in disguise indeed.

mohd I was there from 10 till 6pm near dataran. I am amazed at the slew of reports that trying to put the blame on some politicians. Aren’t the politicians also have stake in bersih like we the other voters. For those who actually in the thick of the action will understand that when the police starts to do their telviv things. Emotion runs high and that’s where things will be out of control as what the police wanted it. Rather than blaming and trying to do divide and rule apporach of bn , its better to go to the root of the issue. Which was all started by the umno lackey, the mayor!

Anonymous #30341242 if there is no Bersih, no such incident would happen. the police are doing their job to safeguard the safety of the gerneral public. if Bersih wants to have their own law , their own freedom , they should organise their rally in the stadium, in the sea, in the open desert, away from the vicinity of general public. shout to the top of your voice.. noboby cares. but doing it in public places, in the streets of KL, chalenging the authority, the police, etc… you are looking for trouble. this country does not belong to you alone.. there are peace loving citizens who doesnot need your political agenda to arouse the feelings of the rakyat against the present governt. I put it to you Ambiga, if you are the ruling govt, and such rally with voilent in the street, are you not doing anything to control & stop it from spreading and becoming out of control,, looting, vandalism, fighting, etc.? if you dont do anything , then the rakyat will accuse the govt of protecting the rakyat from such..

The police personnel who was driving the police car which crashed into several Bersih 3.0 protesters said he was not fully concious when the accident occurred.

Speaking to reporters at his hospital bed at the Kuala Lumpur general hospital, Mohamad Kamil Paimin said he was “confused” as he was losing a lot of blood after a “hard object hit his head on the left side”.

He added that he had passed out after that and came to after receiving treatment at the hospital.

“I don’t even know the car crashed. I was already passed out,” he said.

People’s comments:

karma All these visits are damage control by Hisham and PM.

Alitstar Btw. How that is the policeman Kamil got stiches on the left side of his head, when this “flying mineral bottle” came from his right, smashing the window, penetrate and hit him unconscious? This sound like another one of those JFK assassination plot…
an hour ago

Alitstar None of this would have been necessary of BN stopped monkeying about Dataran. Traffic would have been fine, no tear-gas pallets would have been wasted and certainly one good patrol car could have been saved. Well, all this is just a minimal cost for BN’s campaign right?

Anonymous #82651881 The fact is PDRM cameramen are extremely luck. They able to capture video 1st hand on all the incident related to unlawful Bersih supporter. supporters passing the barrier, monkey jumping on top of police car.. They all able to video on a good angle.. Good job cameramen!

Vote Opposition his injury is in left side not right side!

Anonymous #22381928 Yes that policeman was hit by a flying mineral water bottle, some website analysis it and put it on slow motion…from there he hit the protestor and then the wall..later he was rescue by a bersih guy….but someone was hit with lots of blood….is he the one dead?…well..this is the truth…but police shouldn’t act violence as shown…why not just let them go to DM?? Why use violence in the first place with water canon and gas?? It is always the police !!

King Micah To Speechless… SPOT on… Who cud hv hit him on the left other than his co driver who whacked his left bird brain.. LOL
1 hours ago

Enlightened The policeman is lying I heard that he was wearing a helmet while driving the car. Isn’t that suspicious? Where was he bleeding from?

Bender No one cared to mention the fact that the driver was rescued from further harm by the nearby protesters, one of them was actually wearing yellow! The video also clearly indicated why the crowd overturned the car – they thought someone was underneath it. One of them even tried to peek underneath the car not realising that on the other side, a group of people were trying to flip the car to its side. Luckily some other people pulled him away, just in time, otherwise he could be the one crushed by the overturned car. In the end it was visible that no one was underneath as claimed. Some people even question why do they have to flip the car. It was chaotic and the move to flip the car was made out of panic thinking that someone was actually pinned underneath it. Despite of what they say on tv3, those are some good hearted people out there.

lim chong leong How can anyone hit his head on the left side if not his passenger or that he was looking way behind with his head completely turned around, which means he could not have been looking where he was driving. The whole scene appears to be a sandiwara wayang violence staged by Umno Dato 3 stooges.

GoneBananas That’s what Hisapputing meant when he declared that he had “done his duty” – meaning he had instructed PDRM to create havoc and violence to scare rural TV3 viewers into keeping BN in power.

Speechless Since he was hit on the left side of his head while he was driving, it can only mean that he was whacked by the police sitting next to him.

fairnessforall Another correction I need to make as I see many saying he was concious, is that I saw a video where this particular police car was moving and it was all dented and glass smashed in some places, and the driver was leaning forward towards the steering, which could indicate that he is telling the truth. It was obvious that the car had been attacked previously as seen from the car. I think UMNO did some goons to pretend to be supporters and create trouble as well as another video I saw showed 1 supposedly bersih supporter dancing on top of this police car.

Retnam Sounds more like it was the police and not the protesters who lost control.

fairnessforall Anonymous #63753867, you should watch the video again, the guy in the white shirt and crash helmet was the one who wanted to beat up this policeman as he had crashed into some protestors, but some of the protestors instead beat up that guy in white shirt to stop him and later they helped this policeman out of the car. I’m not taking his side as I am a bersih supporter but just correcting you as to what I saw. He was dressed in a police uniform with no helmet. In any case, I can understand how you got confused as the fight happened so fast, anyone could mistake him for the policeman. As for the protestors overturning the car due to violence, thats a blatant lie by UMNO controlled media. Actually the protestors thought that someone was under the car and you can hear them shouting ‘ada orang di bawah’ and that was why they overturned the car to take the person out, but they were mistaken I think there was no one as the video was not so clear on that.

Raikonen You should have gone and see your maker, your bloody gestapo!!!

Caripasal I find it amusing when he said he lost a lot of blood after he was hit by a hard object on his head.Show us your medical report.Show us your blood profile(haemoglobin),the amount of blood transfused after the incident and the extend of injury.A fabricated medical report is probably necessary to cover up the lies.

Louis Mohammad Kamil should thank the protesters. If the protesters are violent and trouble makers, he would not live to tell the story. Thank God that BERSIH 3 protesters are peace loving . When one see the car driven so carelesly and recklessly ploughing into the crowd, the driven would be beaten to death. Luckily the crowd was made of gentle people who did not believe in shedding blood or destruction of properties.

Rakyat Malaysia What is the police personnel doing in the car driving towards the Bersih crowd? He should be rescued by other FRU, policemen right? Some ill-intention is seen here and perhaps also creating a chance and instigating Bersih people so that BN-UMNO has excuse and whack Bersih people. Thank God, nothing bad happened. FRU and police is getting a lot dirtier now! BN-UMNO is resorting to instigating violence! Bersih people is peaceful but BN-UMNO police is violent!

Malaysian’s comments on Bersih 3.0 Malaysia :

Artchan The protesters were exemplary at Pasar Seni, and Lebuh Pasar. I was there. No provocation, and they just started firing tear gas.

Any day now the GE is nigh. Prepare. Very convenient Ambiga. Heads you win tails they lose. Your rioters, that is the term, they waited for the cops to taunt them and then get them to use water cannons and tear gas. Now you have the cheek to say its not your supporters. So just like your demands, its fair if Pakatan win Putrajaya, and if Bersih acted like thugs, its not your supporters. How convenient.

alfy Yes I was there at the thick of the moment right in front just before the Dataran, and as a few police trucks were making their way some ding dongs were throwing water bottles at the trucks. That I say was uncalled for. For all you know it might some of the agent provacateurs from the DUMNO club trying to instigate things. Otherwise, it was a fantastic moment being there with the THOUSANDS of rakyat and chanting BERSIH. And yeah, gettin gassed was an experience, as I did get it it the last time.

Enlightened Police watched as the car was being overturned and did nothing which was highly suspicious.

Anonymous #05642096 According to Hisapputin’s hint yesterday ‘whatever happens tomorrow, my duty is done and some protesters unusual behaviour today. Er……..

Adrian_1991 In regards to the police car overturn and the pistol being taken away. The police car hit a protester and came out to beat up the protester that he just hit. The crowd seeing this, came in this poor protester’s defense, beat up the police officer, took his gun (didn’t know what happened to the gun at that point) and then overturned the vehicle. So to be honest, would anyone just stand there and see a fellow malaysians get hit by a car and the driver came out and beat up that guy on the ground?

Masu Otaku Yer hishamuddin & polis please explain why those who turned the polis car over were not arrested? Did the polis just close two eyes and let them do it without taking any action? Did the polis just make sandiwara of running away. Those who were sitting down were arrested instead. Come on, even a child could see through such shenanigans.

isa@1penyu Typical behavior not wanting to take blame and blaming others, ampiga thinks she can control all the people there.

Lover Boy First and foremost I would lie to report from our Brickfields gathering . Sharp at 12 the maroon shirt Pas Amal was there to lead traffic and control the traffic and the crowd. When we reached central market we were joined by the Pasar seni group. We move towards JalanTun Perak. Near Masjid Jamek that the FRU assembled and shot their tear gas on us. We were never unruly and I truly regret that the police have to resort such action. Personally I was unhappy that the canister landed like 5 feet away from me. Not a Wayne Roony I kicked the canister side ways but I was lucky that my fellow protestor kick it back to the FRU. That is not unusual.

Jedi_Who Its so like what I was thinking. Did you see Perkasa and UMNO.things complicating the Bersih evernt. No! What if they were dressed like Bersih supporters and were agent provocateurs. I believe kerismudin spoke the night before the Bersih event and some of us were picking up on this possibility. His body language seemed so odd besides the fact he is a scoundrel with his cousin.

Disgusted Unusual alright why were those who did that get arrested instead others who did nothing to provoke the police got arrested. Its like the attack on the students at dataran sit in in the night. Funny so many police around and they allow it to happen. Agent provocateurs at work to put the blame on Bersih.

People comments on Bersih 3.0 near Dataran Merdeka:

揭露真相 My fellow Msians! Today, history is being made at Dataran Merdeka, the birth place of our nation.Truly, Bersih has evolved beyond just being a people’s movement for free, clean and fair elections. In essence, it has come to symbolise the people’s wishes, aspirations and demands for a free, democratic and progressive government anchored in the tenets of accountability, transparency and good governance. Be a witness to this historic event unfolding today. Yes, a new dawn and a new hope for Msia is emerging!Be seeing you there. Best of luck and take care of each other.

hello With the latest revelation that the top 2 EC officials are members of UMNO, there is more reason for people to attend Bersih 3′s sit in protest! We must not allow this kind of gross cheating of the Rakyat to be a common occurrence without strong protest and without any punishment!

1Bersih I’ll be there because I can no longer tolerate the arrogant and corrupt to the core the UMNO/BN regime who continue to use the racial, religious and now royalty card. I am fighting now for the good of our future generations and for a better & just Malaysia. Let’s show UMNO/BN who is the real boss – The Rakyat of Malaysia who refuse to be taken for granted anymore.

Onmu-itna Be brave. Be a proud participant. Be a true Malaysian. Let us all fight for a cause. Let’s us all fight against this corrupted Umno-BN regime hand in hand! Show the world that the voting system set by UMNO-EC is fraudulent!

moontime I wish you all the best for tomorrow’s sit-in near Dataran Merdeka. Regardless of the draconian measures imposed by the powers-that-be, the show must go on. I sincerely hope that the protest will be conducted peacefully, with minimum intervention or provocation by the authorities. Remember, we are creating history by championing a good cause: cleaning up the electoral roll and having a free and fair election. Is that too much to ask? Yes, for those desperately clinging on to power and those unwilling to change the status quo. I pity cretins like AkuMelayu and his ilk for refusing to accept change as inevitable in life, for their obnoxious, immature and pathetic attempt to instigate Malaysians who will be participating in the rally. And so, my dear compatriots, sing the Negaraku loudly with all your heart, although I can’t be there physically, I shall be in spirit for I have the same desire – to see a better Malaysia governed by responsible leaders before I leave this earth.

INIMELAYU LONG LIVE AMBIGA. THE DBKL NUT COULD NOT FOOL YOUR TEAM, NAJIB COULD NOT FOOL YOU THE SECOND TIME, AND NO POLICE – THE OFFICIAL THUGS COULD FOOL YOU ALL. WHAT A GREAT JOB DONE. THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THIS CORRUPTED GOVERNMENT. SEND THEM TO HELL. WE ALL MUST MARCH FOR FREEDOM. THE MALAYSIAN SPRING AND SUMMER HAS COME. GOD BLESS MALAYSIA
3 hours ago

Bystander You silly Aku Melayu (who doesn’t know what is responsibility & accountability) please refrain from filling in your silly remarks and comments. If the present government is honest and sincere do you think there is a need for Bersih to even come into being? Do you know know how they irresponsibly bull-dozed and pass laws by even stopping the clock at 12am for “legitimacy”!!!! Pariah is the word for people who do that! I am a senior citizen and have been paying tax for the last 30 years yet I will definitely lend my support tomorrow at 2pm. as a responsible ra’ayat.

Wonderful Malaysia BERSIH sit-in may cause 2 hrs of inconvenience according to authorities but now by barricading dataran merdeka for 2 days, the inconvenience is now 48 hours. What kind of logic is that? Things are made worse by home ministry, police & DBKL.

Anonymous #63753867 TEMENGGONG, which lawyer has defied a court order? The blokes who obtained the “court order” are not lawyers!!! Dumb asses. Ambiga has highlighted all the mistakes. Do you know that the umno Pahang government doesn’t care about court judgments. The number one umno bugger in the Pahang government will just show his middle finger and obscene signs. What else can you get from uncivilised barbarians who now terrorise at Pakatan Rakyat gatherings and the students at Dataran Merdeka. pdrm? The pariahs are either balls-less or are in cahoots with the umno hooligans.

CAT lover Little else will be more powerful but for 10,000s to sit down and stay put just outside the police lines that “protect” Freedom Square. Nothing else will show more clearly that “freedom” is reserved for “the national interest” of “a happy few” in Malaysia. With an empty Dataran Merdeka and masses sitting down just outside it, those happy few will feel so desperately lonely.

Not Confused Akumelayu: You’re a knucklehead! Did anyone ever suggest that those organising tomorrow’s rally are going to lead the country? Of course not. Like a lot of brainless idiots, you completely miss the point of it all – nothing unusual I guess. What an idiot you are!

Mano I want to attend because I want BN to win a legitimate election if they win-so the great BN supporters can claim high ground when BN wins because the electoral is so squeaky clean with absolutely no fraud. Any God fearing person will say yes to BERSIH because it is meant to clean.Anything wrong with that?? Anybody obstructing Bersih must be an unclean person in mind, body and soul. PERIOD.What happened to the Magistrate Zaki Asyraf Zubir who approved the Court Order. May Allah bless you.you were probably in a dilemma.Nevermind, you will get your double promotion very soon.

Anonymous_3e2c Let’s ALL show YELLOW on our windows, cars, offices, houses, shops, lamp posts, trees and everywhere we can lay our hands but stay clear of DATARAN MERDEKA. As Bersih says, we will still assemble at the meeting points. DOWN with the NAZI regime of NAJIB!!!

Loyal Malaysian Haris Ibrahim in a post has alluded to the rakyat not having to obey bad laws!! I know it is easy for commentators for me , far removed, from the contentious scene to pass value judgement as to what is the best course of action!! Yet, Haris is no ordinary blogger & he’s a lawyer by profession -so I respect his opinions. For reasons unknown to us, the organising committee is accepting the ban imposed upon Dataran. Be so as it may, yet the spirit of Bersih3.0 must be upheld!! The rakyat must demand that electoral reforms be in place before GE13 is called!! This has now become an imperative!!

Anonymous #88568176 Well done Ambiga and the whole of Bersih, well done , that is the spirit. Let us show this Fuad guy who , while initially saying that his job is to look after KL and see it’s life go on, starts locking up Dataran even on a working day causing the people the problems for two whole days when he had said that a 2 hr sit in Dataran Merdeka is bad enough. And today, he suddenly became an authority in security, claiming that Bersih 3.0 is a security threat and is instructing the police to come down hard on the people. This jerk. All malaysians need to know that this Fuad will be parting away at his daughter’s weeding reception on that very day at 8pm in Istana hotel, very proud to have the Agong as his chief guest. Did he think that a Dataran gathering will affect his celebrations for his daughters grand wedding, not too far away from Dataran Merdeka? Let us pay him a visit At the Hotel and wish him well even if he didn’t mean well to the people. His future lies with the powers in the State

Keturunan Malaysia Right OYT, as for the few never-ever-grow-up kids, they can play at home and since the adults are going to leave them by their lonesome selves, it is best to confine them in the LOOs and lock the doors. That way, they can keep playing and shit within a safe and manageable confinement…!

Pandee Sutoo Ambiga is plainly stupid, arrogant and irresponsible. What kind of leader she is. Anything happens she will take the next flight out of th country and seek asylum elsewhere. The victims will be the man on the street. What the heck she’s saying will get as close as possible to dataran? Why can’t she take up stadium merdeka which was offered?

Keturunan Malaysia Insofar as within this forum, we assuredly is looking at an irresponsible a**hole making a damn fool of himself. That is a fact.

Onyourtoes We can gather but not march. So i suggest we gather at the periphery of Dataran instead of the pre-determined meeting points. We shall sit around the sides of the Squares for two hours.

Don’t play-play So here we are looking at the irresponsible leaders that Tunku Abdul Aziz mentioned yesterday when he distance himself from the DAP’s support for Bersih. Do we want our future to be in the hands of these irresponsible individuals?

Lin Wenquan If we have emerged as a proud ‘hub of tertiary education’, how is it that we keep churning out ‘run-of-the-mill’ local graduates who are only worth the piece of paper they receive on graduation day. Thanks to our education system which is ‘better than the US, UK,’ and others (according to our brilliantly obtuse DPM), our so-called institutes of higher education are attracting foreign students. Cheaper fees and compromised standards are obviously the main draw. Foreign funds will pour into the coffers through fees and ancillary expenses much to the delight of those with greasy paws. But have we considered the social impact of such a deluge of foreign students who are purportedly here in pursuit education? Are all of them genuine students? Granted some are. But have others abused their student visas to engage in criminal activities like robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking and prostitution? In their quest for the big dollar, the authorities are oblivious to the potential problems.

lim chong leong How many of these are actually students? I have seen many “China dolls” in 1Malaysia posing as English students. And how many African students are here but selling “black money”? With the current Education Minister, who give excuses for our education’s shortcomings rather than solutions, and who uses fake or unreliable survey data for shiok sendiri, I strongly doubt there is any real screening.

GXFC Please screen the ‘students’ from Africa and Middle East thoroughly. Many are not students.

Disgusted Bender read carefully if you understand English. What Pronto said is right. Perhaps you don’t have children at college stage/university yet or you are one of those priviledged Umnoputras who has gotten 100% scholarship for you kids. We scrimp and save making so much sacrifices to put our kids through college and yet find the fees escalating year on year all because of the Government’s policy of letting colleges and Universities charge the same fees for locals and foreign students. Just earlier in an article The secretary-general of, Higher Education Ministry Ab Rahim Md Noor.said that the govt has targeted to attract 150,000 foreign students to pursue their studies in the country by 2015, going on to say that we are offering a high standard of tertiary education at affordable fees, much cheaper than that of their own countries. It doesn’t happen in Singapore, Australia UK US Canada where local students pay much less than overseas students. We are being ripped off by our own govt.

pronto Bender – one is outright instigating one race and the other is for the raayat.

Chipmunk Politics and religion should never mix. If that happens, then that is what UMNo has been preaching all this while. Because of their narrow understanding in both religion and politics, they have derailed and interpreted Islam according to their ‘wants’ rather then the ‘needs’ of the Rakyat. What kind of Islamic values do UMNo themselves practice? Corruption? Gutter politics? Abuse of power? Racial discrimination?, etc…So folks, you can see that all this issues happened when people in UMNo began to get greedy and selfish. So to UMNo – don’t preach what you don’t practice!
Anonymous #62211637 the inference from this report is that the speaker is probably gay……or just plain ignorant of the public’s voice…. vote the clown and his cohorts out.. and we can build a better legislature… about time we unite and get rid of the menace of such speakers and politicians who are nothing but scumbags
a minute ago

Anonymous #03078561 that the speaker could wave away such an important issue, which he claimed was “raised by the people to be brought to Parliament”. Is the speaker aware of the job and function of an MP?? An MP is the people’s representative in Parliament and he/she is to bring up issues/concerns of the people he represent in Parliament. Please note this definition, Pandikar Amin Mulia and register it in your head. Do not be blinded by your loyalty to UMNO – you are in a position where you must be fair and unbiased towards any party, which is quite obvious to us observers on the outside, that you are not. If you cannot do your job well, without fear or favor to UMNO, then it would be better for you to step down and still be honorable and respected, than to remain and be a laughing stock in the rakyat’s eyes.

anonymousA spot on, imraz !!! Rampant corruption is not a threat to the nation but gay people are ???

fairnessforall “Clarifying that he was not opposing people who were “born” a particular way, he said he was against groups with a hidden agenda or plans to spread the “free sex LGBT lifestyle”.” What a crook. These fools are probably those who visit massage parlors and come here pretending to be good. Why then marry 4, you hypocrite. Just marry 1 woman and live with her all your life. All you hypocrites want to have sex with many woman and come here pretending to be against free sex.

Smartvoters I hope and pray that Allah will bless all the members of this anti-gay group at least one child who is LGBT in order to open up their eyes, hearts, and soul and so that they will stop being inhuman!

Insane^Truth lbgt is an disorder and connects mind.so drug abuse murders and robs the gays and lesbian brain think they are equal to women and men who are straight.hey have right to live with dignity butnot to influence others.ambiga istombiy and antimuslim she cant undrrstand this.dato anwar want yo be PM so he is caught in between.

Anonymous_5 Jaringan Melayu Malaysia and Azwanddin Hamzah, if the rumours that have been circulating are correct, at least 2 Ministers who are closet LGBT will have to be sacked. Think twice before you open your big mouth.

imraz ikhbal It is not that I in any way support LGBT to be leaders of this nation, but I find it perplexing & no less idiotic that so called “Muslims” abhor gays way more than they do daylight thieves who oppress & deceive the people. Malaysian Muslims nowadays are so concerned about what others do in the privacy of their homes, their religious followings & their personal sexual lives more than about how these Muslims own family’s lives are affected by the plunderers & corrupter of this blessed land. I truly wonder we can still delude ourselves into that we are a Muslim nation when we are a far cry from the advocacy of the Holy Quran.

dood Actually, Azwanddin Hamzah should consider that since LGBTs came from straight people, the people he should be really going after are heterosexuals.

Anonymous #45522856 azwanddin hamzah, wait till you have a child who is LGBT and then let him/her get discriminated against!!!

Mat Salleh So sad to see these pariahs behaving like crazed pigs……don’t they have anything better to do? Just see the depths of slime these idiots go to just to appease their political masters. There is a saying I heard a long, long time ago……..before you accuse others of having a smelly arse, remember that your arse smells too!!
